The activity of O.A. Bukeikhanov in the history of the development of the Zhezkazgan Copper Smelter

Abstract

This article is devoted to the famous scientist, geologist Okitay (Sergey) Alikhanuly Bukeikhanov (1910-1957). Okitay (Sergey) Alikhanuly Bukeikhanov was a national leader, well-known public and statesman, scientist, deputy of the State Duma of Russia, leader of the Kazakh intelligentsia of the early twentieth century, journalist, Alikhan Nurmukhameduly Bukeikhanov’son (the zhuz – Tore). There is a very little information about Okitay (Sergey) Alikhanuly Bukeikhanov’s fate, especially after his relatives were repressed. The authors found rare documents in the archives and prepared them for publication. The authors of the article also analyzed media materials in order to characterize the biography of their personage
