The role of the Kazakh heroic epic as a historical source in the study of the history of Ulus Jochi

Abstract

The need to study the Kazakh heroic epic as a historical source is explained by the growth of the historical consciousness of individual peoples, including the needs of modern science. The authors determine the place, idea and motive of the Kazakh heroic epic Edige. The article defines the significance of the heroic epic in the study of the socio-political and cultural life of the Turkic people.
