Abstract

Historical science involves working with historical sources as the main activity of the historian. The role and place of historical source in the research of historians crowds the knowledge obtained by reading the previous historiography. This is especially important in the study of historical sources of the new plan, which involves interstate history and the history of international relations and foreign policy. This aspect of source study increases the importance of diplomatic documents as a special type of written sources of modern history. The article considers the role of historical sources as documents in the field of diplomacy, when a new era is coming, dictated by the multiplication and increasing importance of modern diplomatic documents. The relevance of this topic of the article is explained by the development of the history of international relations and foreign policy in the era of globalization and integration, interrelations and interdependence of states and
international organizations, which constitute the content of the modern context of international relations. In terms of historical source study, there is a development of the documentary environment due to the multiplication of the quantity and development of the quality of diplomatic documents. This requires new approaches in attracting these documents to the knowledge of history, as well as new perspectives for the classification of diplomatic historical sources. From our point of view, it is on this basis possible to increase
the creative potential of a group of historians of international relations and diplomacy for the prospective study of modern history of Kazakhstan as a stage of modern history
