Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze the main stages of the ethno-political development of Mogolustan and its successor Ulus Chagatai. At the present stage, despite the study of various aspects of the history of
Mogolustan, including the Chagatai Ulus, certain problems of ethno-political history are still insufficiently developed. The article provides a brief overview of scientific works on the ethno-political history of
Mogolustan and the Chagatai Ulus. The author, based on the analysis of historical sources, tries to analyze the relationships between individual tribes that were part of Mogolustan. The author concludes that after the collapse of the Chingizid uluses of the imperial type and the emergence of new states, we can talk about the formation of ethnic formations that served as the basis for the modern peoples of Central Eurasia.
