The article describes documentary publications devoted to the problem of the deportation of peoples to the territory of Kazakhstan, identifies the documentary base, identifies the main groups of sources, analyzes doc- uments and materials containing information about special settlers, identifies their information potential on such key aspects of the history of special settlers of Kazakhstan in the 1930s and 1950s as: a) the numerical composition of children-special settlers, including by age and nationality, b) coverage of children of special settlers in educational and medical institutions, c) material and living conditions, d) provision of clothing and food for children of special settlers, e) mortality of children of special settlers, f) employment of children of special settlers.
