Abstract

This work highlights the historiographical aspect of ethnic repatriation in Kazakhstan from 1991 to 2021. It reviews existing research on this phenomenon and analyzes the main trends and directions of research in this area. The authors analyze the evolution of research on this topic, from the first works after the collapse of the Soviet Union to modern trends. Key theories and concepts used by historians to interpret this process are discussed, and the main problems and challenges facing researchers in the field are identified. The authors highlight the main themes and issues raised by the researchers and offer their own conclusions and recommendations for further research.
