Medieval cities of Kazakhstan in the scientific heritage of academician V.V. Bartold

Abstract

In the article information about the works of Academician V.V. Bartold devoted to the history of medieval cities of Kazakhstan was presented, his scientific works were analyzed. Bartold, devoted to the history of medieval cities of Kazakhstan, analyzes his scientific works. Also the authors of this article investigate the scientific activity of the scientist in Kazakhstan and the world community, analyze the materials collected by Academician V.V. Bartold as a result of his travels to Central Asia. The authors pay much attention to the study of the main periods of development of urban planning culture on the territory of modern Kazakhstan, conditioned by natural-climatic, socio-economic and historical factors. The authors investigate the emergence and development of settlements, the principles of their formation in historical periods, the formation of architectural appearance, the formation of silhouette and panoramas of cities of Kazakhstan in the studied periods.
