Abstract

At the present stage, methodological problems of study are one of the traditional and most fundamental problems in historical science. In the conditions of global civilization, it not only does not lose its significance, but, on the contrary, acquires special relevance. In this regard, in this article, the authors highlight and characterize the methodological approaches to the study of historical personalities. The article examines the methodological foundations, specificity and scope of application of the biographical research method. The authors characterize the main features of biographical studies, their significance, the advantages of using the biography genre for historical knowledge. This article also examines the life and work of Akseleu Seidimbek — a native of the Karaganda region, an ethnographer, a researcher of the Kazakh kuy — art.
