The political system of Ulus Juchi: history and gaps

Abstract

The history of the Ulus Dzhuchi, a state that played a huge role in the history of many peoples of Eurasia, has attracted more and more attention of researchers in recent years. In this connection, this article considers the varieties of names of the Djuchid state in medieval sources and the reflection of the peculiarities of Ulus Djuchi in these names. The authors consider the peculiarities of the use of political, geopolitical, dynastypolitical and compound names of the Golden Horde state. The article analyses the semantics of key concepts reflecting the state and administrative-territorial structure of Ulus Juchi and its successors, analyses the structure of the state system, determines the organisation of the bureaucratic apparatus and state administration. Also the authors of this article describe the economic development, cultural life and highlight the main stages of political history of Ulus Juchi.
