The article proposes some methods and techniques of giving open seminars in the process of studying the discipline “History of Kazakhstan”. A didactic material of an expanded calendar-thematic lesson plan is presented using a specific topic as an example. Its structure is examined, and personal and subject-specific outcomes are provided. The algorithm of giving a lesson is described by means of the method “business game”. Data from didactics and methods of teaching history indicate that one of the essential conditions for achieving
strong and deep knowledge, as well as fostering the development of students’ thinking, is the establishment of intra-subject connections. This involves integrating newly studied facts and concepts into the existing knowledge system of the students through effective methods and innovative solutions. The use of interactive forms in the educational process, using various teaching methods, is possible by means of case methods, “business game”, “brainstorming", creative groups, algorithmized conventional symbols, a set of which,
in the form of tables, diagrams, didactic cards, helps a teacher in managing a cognitive activity of the students. Visual images play an extremely big role at the stage of abstract thinking, reveal the essence of studied phenomena, activate a mental activity: highlighting the main thing in the material, generalization and systematization of knowledge
