Abstract

In the article investigated main directions of foreign policy of Soviet Union in 1965–1984 yy. In this period USSR in its political-economic potential, came in second place after USA. On this basis, author from objective point of view shows the different foreign policy steps of Soviet states in the considered years. Concerning to this persuasively profs that, sided relationships of Soviet Union with West and East resulted in 1975 year to the agreement in Helsinki. In that time on the examples of aggression in Czechoslovakia 1968 year and Afghanistan 1979 year diversify shows pursued expansionist policy of USSR, which had negative consequences on international arena. For all these reasons concludes that the crisis in the Soviet foreign policy at this stage.
