Museum as an instrument of region recognition

During the period of ten or fifteen years, the problem of museum and museum activity becomes relevant. This article discusses the place and role of the museum in shaping the image of the region.One of the main tasks of any country including Kazakhstan is to create your own brand in order to be recognizable in the world. Therefore, the author believes that Kazakhstani museums should become a major instrument of recognition of the region and the country, as the Louvre, the Hermitage, etc.In order to determine the role and place of the museum in shaping the image of the region, the author considers five perspectives of museum: museum as a cultural center; museum as a guardian and transformer of cultural heritage; museum as «initiator» of the development of the region; the museum as an area for cultural beginnings; museum as a reference of living standard.
