The article proposes a philosophical analysis of the prospects for the civilizational development of Kazakhstan, in which universal and national values are considered as the fundamental ideological basis of social progress. Turning to the spiritual heritage of the past and the philosophical searches of modern Kazakhstani philosophers, the authors reveal the deep humanistic content of ideas that determine the vector of spiritual modernization of modern Kazakhstani society. The main task of representatives of socio-humanitarian knowledge, the authors consider the development of a new methodology of social self-organization, capable
of offering a different fundamental strategy of civilizational development, taking into account the active conscious active participation of as many people as possible in its implementation. The necessity of compliance of the national policy of the state with the theoretical and methodological achievements of science is substantiated. The importance of searching for ideological and spiritual and moral guidelines for development in the context of global instability is noted. The authors show one of the fundamental directions in this search, namely the determination of one's own soil for the formation of both new social institutions, and, most importantly, for the acquisition of a new ethno-cultural identity as the Kazakh people. The article considers the legacy of Abu Nasr al-Farabi, which is of great importance both in the context of the demands of modern human civilizational development, and in the light of the Kazakh society's search for methodological grounds for updating the spiritual and moral component of the processes of social modernization. The work of the Kazakh philosopher B. Kasenov is considered, which is based on the concept of “namis” as the basis of social transformations in Kazakhstan, the formation of a new Kazakh identity and new Kazakh patriotism.
