Abstract

The article analyzes the degree of the study of the problem of «Women of Kazakhstan during the Great Patriotic War» in the Soviet and modern Kazakhstan historical science. The presented wide stratum of
historiographic material was divided into three large groups: Soviet historiography, modern Kazakhstani historiography and foreign historiography. The authors, comparing the noted historiographic stages, highlight that during the Soviet period gender studies did not have wide popularity in the USSR. Significant changes take place in the modern period, when a whole scientific direction appears on the history of women's military and rear everyday life. However, the authors come to the conclusion that the history of the participation of women in the Great Patriotic War in Kazakhstan historiography is still a poorly understood aspect and suggest conducting research in this direction.
