Signal-women of the East Kazakhstan region during the Great Patriotic War: women's stories and front-line daily life

Currently, in historical studies, scientists have become the most interested in studying gender history during wartime, especially the role and place of a woman at the frontline. Females are becoming the object of attention of historians. Scientists are interested in such aspects as psychology and the mood of women, behavioral stereotypes, women's patriotism and courage, women's stories. The article is devoted to the heroism of female signalers, called up at the frontline from the East Kazakhstan region, who, at the expense of life, provided the frontline with communications, transmitted and received orders, and important information. Based on archival documents, unique memoirs of veterans, published memoirs, the author reveals the inner world of female military personnel, describes the common side of military everyday life, shows their unparalleled courage and nflexible strength of mind, highlights the role and importance of heroic feats of female signalers at the frontline, emphasizes their invaluable contribution in achieving victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.
