Abstract

The main goal of this article is to clarity a relationship between history and semiotics. The authors come to conclusions that, firstly, the history is a semiotic system. The historical narrative is compiled of the most important significant events that can be revised over time. Secondly, semiotic methods allow for a more complete understanding of historical texts and solving many problems of history. Based on this, the traditional three-part structure of the Kazakhs was considered. Comparison of this structure with organizations known in the history of the Scythians and other Indo-Iranian peoples shows that the idea of a three-part organization dates back to ancient times. The zhuz system associated with the territorial and economic division also has a mythical and cosmological foundation, when three parts of the common Kazakh territory are understood as zones of the universe that form the Sociocosmos of the Kazakhs.
