Abstract

The article deals with the adaptation processes of Kazakhstan at the level of the elite of social scales of the
first half of the 18th century and the first administrative workers appointed to Kazakhstan by Peter I and his heirs. The relationship between the khanate, its administration and in fact the colonization administration was previously interpreted as the process of voluntary accession of Kazakhstan to Russia. The author remains in this concept and continues the study of relationships not only on the basis of 1731. Other contacts of various representatives of the Kazakh elite with the administrative staff of the young Russian Empire were also studied. As a result of the research, the role of Sultan Barak in the triangle of relations between the Young, Middle Zhuz and the apparatus of the Russian Empire is emphasized. The novelty of this topic is that not only is the characteristic of the significance of voluntariness in the accession of Kazakhstan to Russia, but also the complexity of the origin of the processes of ethno-political mutual adaptation of the Kazakh and Russian elites. The article used a large number of archival sources that only recently began to be transferred by the Russian Federation to the Republic of Kazakhstan, which strengthens the content and benefits of this study for the development of cultural-historical Russian-Kazakhstan relations.
