The study of ethno-cultural tolerance as a component of the students’ information culture

This article discusses the issues of ethnocultural tolerance as a component of the students’ information culture. Based on the material of applied sociological research, the authors show the values of student youth, the representation of tolerance in them. The influence of the Kazakh model of the development of a multicultural society on the values and behavioral strategies of respondents is shown. Based on the conducted research, the authors conclude that the values of ethnocultural tolerance of students are sufficiently developed as a component of their general information culture. The results of the study indicate that the majority of the surveyed students have a developed ethnic identification; a satisfactory level of ethnocultural tolerance, high level of ethnocultural tolerance is manifested in issues related to the positioning of Kazakhstan in the world community. The main algorithms of intercultural communication and the values of the ethnocultural nature of the respondents are formed mainly under the influence of the direct social environment in the family and school. Indicators of religiosity among students indicate a satisfactory level of tolerance development and the absence of religious extremism. The majority of the surveyed students have developed patriotic values, identify themselves as patriots of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The significant role of the educational process is noted in the formation of patriotic values of students. The satisfaction of the majority of students with the conditions for the development of languages provided by universities is high.
