The feat of women of North Kazakhstan in the years of the Great Patriotic War

Women's issue in modern society is attracting more and more attention of researchers. The relevance of this problem is also increasing due to the emergence of new trends in foreign historiography of women's issues, which are moving along the path of gender development. Similar trends can be seen in the works of modern Kazakhstani historians.An analysis of lessons of the Great Patriotic War is impossible without studying the contribution to the Victory of socio–demographic group of population, including women. For a long time, the participation of women in hostilities was sporadic, and only during the years of World War II did it become widespread. A woman in the Great Patriotic War, on a par with a man, showed courage, fortitude in the fight against the enemy. The study of women's issue during the Great Patriotic War requires taking into account the specifics of solving this issue in each separately taken region.The article is dedicated to the heroism of women conscripted to the front from Akmola and North Kazakhstan regions of Kazakh SSR during the years of World War II (1941–1945). The feats of women military personnel based on archival materials and electronic bank of documents «The Feat of Peoples in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945» are described. The author shows that simple and inconspicuous heroines fought with dignity on all fronts, day after day making heroic deeds and bringing the Victory Day closer.
