Abstract

The interest of historians in the national policy of the Soviet state and interethnic relations can be traced at all stages of national history. The purpose of the article is to comprehensively analyze the national policy of the Soviet state in Kazakhstan and identify problems in interethnic relations. Based on this, the article examines the causes of the crisis of interethnic relations on the territory of pre-revolutionary Kazakhstan; the authors reveal the factors that pushed the Kazakh intelligentsia to fight for the ethnic consolidation of the Kazakhs and defend the fundamental interests of the Kazakh people. In the process of studying the issue, the authors focused on the peoples inhabiting Kazakhstan and their group attitudes in interethnic relations. The relationship between Kazakhs and Russians, as well as individual ethnic minorities, was examined.
